No obvious way to determine if an iMessage will cost money.

iOS 5.0 brings this amazing "iMessage" feature which should allow us to send SMS for free. The big problem though, is that there is

a) No obvious way to tell if we'll pay -- that is, if the message will be sent over Apple/IP or over the Carrier/SMS
b) No way to "block" writing SMS, for example with a parental control.

There is a way. If it's an iMessage, the Send button is blue. If it's a regular SMS, the button turns green. Same with the chat bubbles.
