Wrong modal view direction in iTunes Movie Trailers app

Status:Open Resolved:
Product:iTunes Movie Trailers app Product Version:1.0.3
Classification:User Interface Reproducible:Always

Summary: When dismissing a trailer while it's playing, the modal view moves the opposite direction of how it should.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open iTunes Movie Trailers app on iPad running iOS 5.0
2. start playing a movie trailer. It slides up from the bottom of the screen.
3. tap the Done button or wait for the trailer to finish playing.

Expected Results:
The movie slides back down to whence it came.

Actual Results:
The UI slides up over the movie. If you keep doing this, it feels like you're stacking more and more cards on top of the UI. Each modal slide-up should be paired with a modal slide-back-down.

Bump - I just checked, and the bug is now completely reversed. When you tap to view a trailer in the Trailers app on iOS 9.2.1 on an iPad mini, the rest of the app pushes down to reveal the trailer. Then, tapping the Done button on the trailer causes the video to dismiss modally down in the normal way. So, it's now differently broken.

They appear to have fixed this in version 1.4. I haven't gotten an update on the Radar yet, though.

Are you saying you fixed it for iOS 5? I don’t have any iOS 5 devices handy (I can get one at work and look at it if you like), but I tested it on an iPad mini with Retina display running iOS 7.0.4 and the issue did not appear to be resolved. Here are my updated steps to reproduce with the latest iOS and version 1.3 (158) of the Trailers app:

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Trailers app in landscape orientation on an iPad running iOS 7.0.4. 2. Tap the first thumbnail for a movie trailer (Repentance at the time of this writing). 3. Scroll down to the Trailers section. 4. Tap the trailer. A fullscreen video view slides up and starts playing. 5. Tap the Done button or wait for the video to finish playing (I tried both).

Expected results: The video slides back down, opposite the direction it was moving when it started.

Actual results: The video stays still, and the rest of the app UI slides up over it.
