28-Jan-2012 01:39 AM John Hawkinson: Summary: Quicktime Player cannot display fullscreen video on an external monitor under Lion This is a serious regression from 10.6 and it makes Quicktime Player useless for external presentations that have to be seemless. Of course this relates to Lion's Fullscreen model. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open MPEG in QT Player 2. Position window on External Display 3. Cmd-F Expected Results: Video should show on external video projector / large monitor Actual Results: Video shows on laptop's 15" display. Regression: This worked properly in 10.6. Notes: The workaround of moving the menu bar to the external monitor is not acceptable. Then the people watching the video projector see a title bar and perhaps a desktop. Instead I have to use VLC.app instead of QuickTime Player. Should I file this as a Lion bug already? Surely many people have, but I'm not sure how to describe it in AppKit terms.

Simple answer
I wasted lots of time restoring snow leopard, had bootcamp problems after that, one full day wasted.
Download old version off Quicktime 7 made for Snow Leopard and Lion. Link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3678 . It places it in the Utilities directory. Problem solved on that end, but not on the developers of the new upgraded software. I don't know what kind of drugs they use but they sure are not good.
