If drive with source code is full, Xcode hangs

Summary:
If a project is on a secondary drive (not the system drive) and the drive is full, Xcode hangs

Steps to Reproduce:
Fill drive, leave room for Xcode application project.
Open Xcode project, if it opens build.

Expected Results:
Success or error message about lack of disk space.

Actual Results:
App hangs. First observed hang occurred during XIB compilation. Subsequent hangs on opening of same project.

Regression:

Notes:
Freeing space clears the problem.
