Default Fonts can not be changed in Preferences

Summary:
Changing the default fonts for mails does not work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mail.app.
2. Select Mail -> Preferences from the menu bar.
3. Choose 'Fonts & Colors'.
4. Click 'Select...' next to the 'Message font' display.
5. Choose another font or another size in the 'Fonts' panel.
6. Notice that the display of the font does not change in Mail.app's preferences dialog.
7. Close the 'Fonts' panel'.
8. Notice that the font was not changed.

Expected Results:
The font should have been changed to the font I've selected in the fonts panel.

Actual Results:
The previous font is still active.

Regression:
Possibly, can't verify.

Notes:
Tested on 10.8.2 and verified on another machine.
