Promo code redeem url stuck in "sign in" loop

Summary: When trying to redeem a promo code using the convenient redeem url link user is prompted to sign in to redeem the promo code but successfully signing in just results in another prompt to sign in.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/freeProductCodeWizard?code=VALID_PROMO_CODE
2. Enter Apple ID and Password when prompted

Expected Results: The promo code will be redeemed and the app will start downloading

Actual Results: User is prompted to sign in again… and the loop continues

Regression: Confirmed in iTunes 10.7 on Mac running OS X 10.8.2

Notes: If the promo code has already been redeemed or is invalid the user is not asked to sign in but is simply shown the relevant error message
