Summary: Users in the iOS Developer University Program receive an error when refreshing their provisioning profiles in the Xcode Organizer. See attached screen shot. Steps to Reproduce: As a Team Member in an iOS Developer University Program account, open the Organizer in Xcode 4.5.2 and refresh your provisioning profiles. Expected Results: Profiles should refresh without error. Actual Results: Profiles refresh, but the user receives an error sheet that states "The selected team does not have a program membership that is eligible for this feature. If you need assistance, please contact Apple Developer Program Support. http://developer.apple.com/support" It is unclear what "this feature" refers to, but I suspect it is distribution certificates or profiles since the University Program does not have them. I noticed the status bar at the top of the organizer window showing that it was attempting to download distribution certificates. Regression: Notes: FWIW, I am a member of multiple iOS development programs (University, Enterprise, and Standard Company), but I've received reports that this is happening to students who are only enrolled in the university program.

Do you know of a workaround on this? Or have you heard from Apple?
Thanks!
No workaround.
I don't know of a workaround, but I think they can ignore that error.
When they refresh the profiles list in Xcode, it connects to the provisioning portal and attempts to download various certificates and profiles automatically (see Provisioning Profile Refresh). I noticed in the status bar at the top of the Organizer window that it was attempting to download a distribution certificate. The problem with this is that the iOS University Program doesn't get distribution certificates/profiles, only development ones. In previous versions of Xcode, distribution certificates and profiles had to be manually installed into Xcode. Xcode wouldn't automatically download them. But it looks like Apple has changed this with one of the recent Xcode updates. I see a stackoverflow post from July that has the same issue.
If the students have their development certificate/private key in their default keychain and the provisioning profile in Xcode, then they should still be able to build and run their apps on their iOS devices despite that error message.
