separatorInset when running app using iOS6 SDK on device running on iOS7

On using the iOS6 SDK while running on iOS7 devices, the separatorInset property for the UITableView and the UITableViewCell is not defaulted to UIEdgeInsetsZero. This is leading to an inset for the table views and table view cells in the applications.
