09-Aug-2013 10:07 PM Kevin Chen:
When using the combined URL and search bar in Safari 6.x, Safari often submits the URL field when I don't press Return. It also refuses to submit the URL when I do press return.

If the two cases were averaged and applied to each URL query, the URL bar would work perfectly! :-P

Regression:
Reproducible since Safari 6's first release. Most recently tried to reproduce with Safari 6.0.5 (8536.30.1).

Please provide a screen recording displaying the issue and attach the output of 'sysdiagnose' collected while the problem is occurring.  'sysdiagnose' can be triggered by pressing Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-Shift-Period, and it takes a few minutes to complete. When ready, the output will automatically be revealed in a Finder window (or it can be manually retrieved from /var/tmp)

Hi,

Since I can't reproduce the bug reliably, how important is it that sysdiagnose runs while the problem happens? Is it OK if I run sysdiagnose immediately after it happens?

Kevin

I really hate that they just close bugs. They could try to make bug reporter better so that one can see the other bugs progress instead of asking whats the status is. Thats just dumb and stops their workflow (if they even answer such emails)

I'm not sure I've ever seen this happen. Perhaps you could record your screen using Quicktime's screen recorder and run it for a while while using safari to do searches or typing URL's and then edit the video to be shorter to show what exactly is happening? I would really appreciate seeing what exactly is happening.

What does your Console output say when you select All Messages? What do you see for Safari?
