when a label in a tableview (and maybe elsewhere) starts with a newline, text isn't rendered

Summary:
Well the issue is easy.. I have a tableView and it contains stock TableCells. each has a fixed size (WAY LARGE) and each row contains a label with multiline text. rows=0
as soon as the text starts with a newline, it doesnt show up. a SPACE and then a newline works fine

Steps to Reproduce:
download the sample... which is the stock master-detail example app modified to have LARGE cells with multiline labels 

Expected Results:
text shows up :D

Actual Results:
no text visible

only affects ios7
