Summary: When printing to a shared printer (hosted on OS X) from an iPad, selecting the "Duplex" option causes the job to be rejected from the OS X host. Steps to Reproduce: 1. OS X: install printer, click "Share this printer on the network". Enable Printer Sharing if not already enabled. 2. OS X: run "sudo cupsctl --share-printers --remote-any" 3. OS X: using Apple Configurator, create a profile with an AirPrint payload (IP: machine IP; Resource: /printers/apple_test) 4. OS X: host configuration profile on a web server 5. iOS: install configuration profile from web server 6. iOS: launch Safari and browse to a multiple page web site 7. iOS: open printers dialog, select printer, 1 Copy, select "Double-sided" Expected Results: Document should spool from iOS to OS X, then from OS X to the printer, printing duplexed. Actual Results: No document is spooled from iOS to OS X. From Xcode, the device console shows: MobileSafari[1257] <Warning>: ipp://130.126.128.15/printers/apple_test: Print-Job failed: Unsupported sides "two-sided-long-edge". Version: OS X: 10.8.5 (12F37) iOS: 7 (11A465) Printer: HP Color LaserJet 4600, and also tested Dell 5130dn (same result on both) Notes: Configuration: Printing from OS X Safari on the machine that hosts the queue duplexes fine. From iOS without duplexing it prints fine. It only fails to print from iOS when duplexing is selected. OS X is on a mac mini, iOS on an iPad 3 WiFi only. Attachments:
