Summary: The following installer command will crash on 10.9; it succeeds on previous OS X versions installer -pkg AMPAgent.pkg -target / <&1 >&- This unusual situation is the shell version of a daemonizing process (also attached). The damonizing process closes stdin/stdout/stderr, and then uses popen(), which reassigns the called process's stdout to filehandle 0. Installer accepted this configuration prior to 10.9. While we intend to stop damonizing this way, the upgrade process for our application uses this mechanism to call installer, so if installer crashes, we cannot deploy a fix. Steps to Reproduce: installer -pkg <pkg> -target / <&1 >&- Expected Results: Installation should succeed Actual Results: Crash Version: ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.9 BuildVersion: 13A584
