Mac OX 10.9 sometimes loses the IP address on the Thunderbolt Ethernet interface. It doesn't matter whether the IP address is configured manually or assigned via DHCP. ifconfig and the Network pref pane display the interface as active/green: en1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 options=10b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_HWTAGGING,AV> ether a8:20:66:29:bf:45 nd6 options=1<PERFORMNUD> media: autoselect (1000baseT <full-duplex,flow-control>) status: active It seems that the problem occurs more often after waking the computer up from sleep.
