Xcode 5.0.2: Renaming a file in the Project Navigator leads to spurious error messages

Originator:kusterer
Number:rdar://15749645 Date Originated:05-Jan-2014 01:41 PM
Status:Duplicate/15710813 Resolved:08-Jan-2014 00:58 PM
Product:Developer Tools Product Version:Xcode 5.0.2 (5A3005)
Classification:Serious Bug Reproducible:Always

STR:
- Turn off "enable source control" in Xcode's Preferences (Source Control pane)
- Choose a source file in the sidebar (in my case one with a ".m" suffix)
- Click its name to edit it and change its suffix (in my case, I changed it to ".cpp")
- Now edit the file's contents and save.

Expected result:
- The change should be saved in the file, all is well in the world.

Actual result:
Error message 'The document “WILDHostCommands.cpp” could not be saved. The file has been changed by another application.' Clicking "Save Anyway" saves it anyway, but there is *no other application*. It's Xcode's left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
