Summary: When printing project, target, and build configuration names into the standard output, xcodebuild mangles non-ASCII code points. It looks like xcodebuild is encoding these strings as UTF-8 and then interpreting the UTF-8 encoded representations as ASCII, ending up with mangled NSStrings. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Xcode 2. Create a new Xcode project with the name: "Skändi ☃ pröjecti" 3. Open Terminal 4. Change the working directory to the one where you saved the Xcode project 5. Run: xcodebuild -project "Skändi ☃ pröjecti.xcodeproj" Expected Results: Expected to see: === BUILD TARGET Skandit Välilyönnit OF PROJECT Skändi ☃ pröjecti WITH THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION (Release) === Actual Results: Saw: === BUILD TARGET Skandit V√§lily√∂nnit OF PROJECT SkaÃàndi ‚òÉ proÃàjecti WITH THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION (Release) === Version: Xcode Version 5.0.2 (5A3005)
