Swift types are following variable names (declaration), instead of preceding it.

Summary: Swift is more in phase with other languages when it comes to method invocation with the dot notation (when compared to Obj-C). But then why does Swift use types that follow the variable name (when declaring a variable) instead of preceding it like most other languages do?
