Summary: My app Check Off has this issue on certain customers Macs: I've had a few customer reports of my app losing it's set of preferences. Judging by what's output in the console by the cfprefsd process, it seems as though it's decided I am no longer sandboxed: 9/30/14 9:07:33.134 AM cfprefsd[199]: CFPreferences detected an inconsistency. An attempt by process 322 to access preferences in ***************************************************** Domain: com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff User: sam Container: /Users/sam/Library/Containers/com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff/Data Path: /Users/sam/Library/Containers/com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff/Data/Library/Preferences/com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff.plist plist data:<CFPDMMAPBuffer: 0x7fbe6950fd70> shmem index:261 dirty:0 byHost:0 mode:600 generation:0 actually resolved to ***************************************************** Domain: com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff User: sam Container: (null) Path: /Users/sam/Library/Preferences/com.chromedomesoftware.checkoff.plist plist data:(null) shmem index:1282 dirty:0 byHost:0 mode:600 generation:0 Typically this indicates that the process's sandbox profile changed in a way that added or removed a shared-preference-* rule or changed its container path. To avoid overwriting data incorrectly, cfprefsd is disconnecting this client from this source, its preferences will not be saved to disk Steps to Reproduce: Right now I can't personally reproduce the problem, but have heard from a few customers that have seen it. I suspect that it might have something to do with being in the startup items, but haven't been able to prove it yet. Expected Results: Actual Results: Version: 10.9 and 10.8.
