Summary: The UIAppearance method + (instancetype)appearanceWhenContainedIn:(Class<UIAppearanceContainer>)ContainerClass, ... is not available to Swift code. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to use UIAppearance appearanceWhenContainedIn: UIBarButtonItem.appearanceWhenContainedIn(UIToolbar.self).tintColor = UIColor.whiteColor() 2. Compile Expected Results: The code compiles Actual Results: error: 'UIBarButtonItem.Type' does not have a member named 'appearanceWhenContainedIn' Version: Xcode 6.1.1/6A2006 OS X 10.10.1/14B25
