App Switcher automatically closes in select applications

Summary:
The app switcher does not remain open long enough to use it, when opening it from inside select applications. This makes it impossible to use, and I've had to quit the app, and use the App switcher from the homescreen on numerous occasions. This has happened to me inside of Tweetbot, YouTube, Instagram and appears to occur when the app is requesting new data, although I'm not entirely certain.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unlock iPhone
2. Open an application
3. Double-click home button

Expected Results:
App Switcher would remain open until closed, or an application is selected.

Actual Results:
App Switcher closes itself immediately after being opened.

Configuration:
iPhone 6 16GB
