watchOS: Calendar doesn't sync well with Mac

When I add and change events in my (iCloud) calendar on my Mac, those events don’t show up on my Watch, even hours later. I have to manually open Calendar on my iPhone, open Calendars modal and pull to refresh the calendar. Only then events on my Watch update.
