Safari 8.1: Can not select second last tab

Summary:
When the last tab is selected, you are unable to switch to the second last tab by clicking on it.

Steps to Reproduce:
Create enough tabs so the tabs on the left start being shrunk.
Select the last tab.
Try and select the second last tab, you won’t be able to.

Expected Results:
Switch to the second last tab.

Actual Results:
The selected tab does not change.

Workaround:
Select any other tab then switch to the second last tab.
