Summary:
Whenever I click on the "Spotlight" menu bar item, the blue overlay doesn’t stay highlighted as long as the Spotlight window is open.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click the "Spotlight" menu bar item.

Expected Results:
This overlay should stay highlighted as long as the Spotlight window is open.

Actual Results:
Whenever I click on the "Spotlight" menu bar item, the blue overlay doesn’t stay highlighted as long as the Spotlight window is open.

Version:
OS X El Capitan 10.11 and OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 Beta

Notes:
NONE

Configuration:
This bug is present on every version of El Capitan I've tested; beginning with the first Beta.
