Summary: The Disk Utility.app should have full support for Core Storage capabilities. For example, Disk Utility.app should have the capability to create cs volumes that span multiple disks. Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: Actual Results: Disk Utility in 10.11 does not fully support Core Storage capabilities. For example, it is not possible to create a volume that spans multiple drives using Disk Utility.app. It is possible from the command line with `diskutil` thankfully, but an advanced UI interface would be useful. These features are not fully supported by apple so disk utility will not expose them.

Non factory fusion drives are not supported by Apple. So, no, we're not adding full CS support because those features are not supported.

Understood, but the excuse is fairly weak given Apple itself makes use of these features. I have created a new report [23138127] as an enhancement request to bring CS to full support so that this one can be closed.

The use case is not specific to Fusion drive--rather, the use case is the creation of logical volume groups. In other words, volumes that span multiple physical drives or partitions. For example, let's say I have two external Thunderbold hard drives and want to create an LVG as a single volume that spans them. This isn't Fusion, but just LVG.
