Split between two full-screen windows is not black after system restart

Summary: After restarting, the windows are restored and full screen windows are put into the places they were on shutdown. However the split space between them shows the desktop background in full colour, with no fade or blur, between them. Steps to Reproduce: Open some windows in split screen mode Restart Mac See the split is showing the desktop background Expected Results: The split should be black Actual Results: The split is clear and shows the desktop background
