Summary: When subclassing UITabBarController, viewDidLoad is called before the class is initialised. This causes viewDidLoad to be called before any custom class initialisation has been done. Steps to Reproduce: Subclass UITabBarController Override an initialiser and viewDidLoad Create an instance of the subclass programatically Observe that viewDidLoad is called when making a call to the superclass’ initialiser Expected Results: The initialiser method returns before viewDidLoad is called Notes: Example project attached
