No sound over earphones

Summary:
When i play sound in my device (no matter in which app) everything is ok. But when i plug in my earphones i cannot hear sound any more. The earphones are ok and working on my Mac and my iPhone under iOS 9

Steps to Reproduce:
Plug in earphones
See if you can hear anything

Expected Results:
You should hear something

Actual Results:
You cannot hear anything
