Xcode no longer shows line numbers

Summary:
Xcode doesn't show line numbers anymore, even if it is enabled in Preferences. Please see the attached screenshot. I have restarted Xcode–this doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

Steps to Reproduce:
Not quite sure, it just occurred and I can't get the numbers back.

Expected Results:
The line numbers will show up when the setting is ticked.

Observed Results:
No line numbers.
