Originator:bergamot

Status: Resolved:
Product:Developer Tools Product Version:4.1
Classification:UI Reproducible:Yes

Summary: When in Lion's fullscreen mode, Xcode cannot be on the screen at the same time as the iOS simulator, which is a different application.

Steps to Reproduce: Open Xcode. Open an iOS project. Put Xcode in fullscreen mode. Run an application in the simulator.

Expected Results: Simulator appears floating over Xcode as an accessory window, or in an Xcode pane of some kind.

Actual Results: Simulator gets put on one of the global desktops, and it's impossible to watch the Xcode debug console while also watching the simulator window.

Regression: N/A

Notes: Ideally, the simulator would be part of the Xcode application, rather than its own app.

Agreed. Apple, please change this.

I can understand that integrating the sim entirely into Xcode might be a problem - I'm not knowledgeable enough about such things, but I can imagine it might have something to do with sandboxing the sim environment. OK, fine.

It's a huge limitation, though, it makes full screen nearly worthless.
